| Maintenance | Retail Crosswalk

The user-managed Retail Crosswalk functionality enables retail pharmacies to update their own Billing Unit Per Package (BUPP) values when necessary. The retail BUPP is automatically populated by 340B Architect; however, if the dispense volume varies from the default BUPP you can manually update it in the Retail Crosswalk. You do not have to contact Macro Helix IT to perform this maintenance.

NOTE: Most retail and contract pharmacies adjudicating claims using NCPDP D.0 standards will not need to utilize Retail Crosswalk. The Retail Crosswalk is typically useful for retail pharmacies dispensing prescriptions that are billed to a patient’s medical insurance instead of their prescription coverage/PBM. In the example below, the 340B Architect default retail BUPP is 14000, based on the volume of the total NDC. The facility is billing per bag, in this case, a quantity of 24. The facility is under-accumulating and should add a new relationship to the Retail Crosswalk with a BUPP of 14.

Click the Export icon and select a file format to down the file.

Selection Panel

The selection panel lists the items in your crosswalk based on the vendor selected in the FILTER OPTIONS.

• Add new retail crosswalk BUPP
• Delete retail crosswalk BUPP

Right-Click Menu

In the selection panel, when right-clicking an active relationship, you can do the following:

• EDIT CROSSWALK: allows edits to be made to the retail crosswalk NDC, NDC Description, BUPP, Vendor, Effective date, or Notes
• DELETE: Delete the retail crosswalk relationship
• View ACCUMULATION DETAIL: View accumulation and purchase history for the NDC
• View ACCUMULATION TRACKER: View a visual representation of the accumulation history for the NDC

Switch Vendor Crosswalk

1       Under FILTER OPTIONS, click the VENDOR drop-down menu and select a vendor.

2       Click Show Crosswalk.

Add New Retail Crosswalk BUPP

1       From the MAINTENANCE menu, select Retail Crosswalk.

2       To add an item to the crosswalk, click Add New (or right-click and select ADD NEW) and complete the fields in the pop-up window.

3       Complete the fields on the screen using the information below:

• Active: Defaults to Yes if you are actively dispensing. Select No to deactivate. Go to Deactivate/Reactivate Crosswalk Relationship for further information.
• NDC: Valid 11-digit NDC.
• NDC Description: Vendor description for the NDC.
• BUPP: Billing Unit Per Price (BUPP) for the NDC.
• Vendor: Select the vendor from whom the NDC is purchased.
• Effective: Date when the new BUPP should take effect.
• Notes: Option field; for reference use only. Enter notes.

4       Click Save and Apply.

The relationship will appear in the retail crosswalk. Upon recalculation, accumulations will reflect the new package totals based upon the 340B Architect default retail BUPP.

NOTE: For frozen scripts, which are indicated in the Utilization Manager with a lock icon, a ticket will need to be sent to Macro Helix Support for recalculation.

Delete Crosswalk Retail BUPP

To delete a BUPP in the retail crosswalk,

1       In the selection panel on the right, select the items you want to delete.

2       Click Delete (or, right-click and select DELETE).
The relationship will appear in the retail crosswalk. Upon recalculation, accumulations will reflect the new package totals based upon the 340B Architect default retail BUPP.

NOTE: For frozen scripts, which are indicated in the Utilization Manager with a lock icon, a ticket will need to be sent to Macro Helix Support for recalculation.
